Extraordinary experience through the mysterious paths to Machu Picchu

Itinerary:

  • Day1 - Pisac Archeological and Market – Pachamanca in Andean Cousin in Huchuy Qosqo Community and homestay in Sacllo community

    Pick up from your hotel in Cusco at 08:00am, then you will continue to the picturesque town of Pisac, in about 50 minutes driven we will arrive to this town, short ride 25 more minutes up to Pisac archeological site. Here you will participate in the guided tour, visiting all its holy places including terraces, aqueducts, paths that are associated to walls and gates, water channels, cemeteries, bridges, etc. After we will continue to Pisac local Market where you can purchase beautifully crafted products hand-made by the locals, then 40 more minutes driving we will reach Huchuy Qosqo Community, where you will have an affectionate welcome by the members of the community with colorful native clothes and Andean music. Then we will start the preparation of this experience flavors of the Andes known as Pachamanca. It is a way of preparing food that consists of digging a hole in the ground, placing some stones in it, previously heated with firewood. Then, put various types of ingredients on top such as potatoes, cassava, sweet potato, corn, cheese, broad beans, chicken meat, vegetables and other ingredients. After sharing this nutritive lunch with the family of the community time to relax, then homestay in  Sacllo community.

  • Day2 - Sacllo Community – Lares Kiswarani Community Weaving Experience with Graciela Mamani – Kiswarani Waterfalls

    Early pick up from the community at 06:00 am, then 2 ours driving we will reach Kiswarani community small peasant community, here we will visit the house of Graciela Mamani and Feliciano Aranzabal for our breakfast, after we will have a hand weaving demonstration experience by Graciela Mamani, an expert and wise weaver, here we will see the lifestyle in the Andes, also we will visit the local school to sharing experience with the kids, they speak just their native language Quechua, you can interchange languages with them. You may bring some school supplies to distribute to the kids. Lunch will be ready prepared by our chef, then time to prepare our duffel bags to give our horse man to carry until the campsite.  2 hours hiking gradually uphill we will reach our campsite. On the way we will enjoy the view of the waterfall coming from the lagoon place where we will spend the night. Estimated walking time: 2 hours Maximum altitude point: (3800m/12464ft)

  • Day3 - Kiswarani – Pachakutiq Pass – Cancha Cancha Village

    Breakfast in the campsite; time to pack and start hiking uphill until reaching the high pass called Pachakutiq Pass over (4,400m/14,436ft). Before start our hiking our chef will provide us a boiled water to fill your canteens or water bottles and you will begin the expedition, around 4 hours uphill companied with stunning views, llamas gracing, snow caped mountains, lagoons finally we will reach the highest point of our hiking Pachakutiq Pass. Here we will spend few minutes to relax and enjoy the view of snow mountains of Sawasiray and Chicon, then we will descent for around one hour to Accopata the lunch spot. Lunch with impressive view to the landscape, llamas grazing around. Our journey continues to Cancha Cancha village (3,800m/12,467ft), this downhill journey will take more or less 2 hours, we will meet with local people with colorful native clothing on the way, upon arrival to the campsite our staff will welcome you with the tents set up. Total distance: 13 km Estimated walking time: 6-7 hours Maximum altitude point: (4400m/14622ft)

  • Day4 - Cancha Cancha Village – Ollantaytambo – Train to Aguas Calientes

    Wake up time with coca tea and hot water, time to pack before breakfast, after breakfast we will leave this native village, we start descending just few minutes later you will witness the change of microclimate, here starts the tropical forest towards the Sacred Valley the trail continues with lush plant life, and biodiversity of bird. Finally we will arrive to Huaran Villages, located in the middle of the Sacred Valley (2,850m/9,350ft), here our lunch will be ready, After the lunch we will say good bay to our horsemen, then continue with our private van to Ollantaytambo, from here we will take the train to Aguas Calientes or Machu Picchu town, upon arrival in Aguas Calientes assistance and transfer to your hotel. Total distance: 9 km Estimated walking time: 3-4 hours Maximum altitude point: (3,800m/12,467ft)

  • Day5 - Machu Picchu Tour – Back to Cusco

    Excursion to Machu Picchu from Aguas Calientes, short ride (25 minutes) up to the citadel of Machu Picchu. Upon arrival, and you will participate in a guided tour, visiting the Main Plaza, the Circular Tower, the most important preserved Intihuatana, the Royal Quarters, the Temple of the Three Windows. Then, you will have time to perform some of the following activities by yourself (not included in the price): Optional climb to Huayna Picchu Mountain; from where you can appreciate the immensity of Machu Picchu, even more amazing being high and distant In the afternoon you will take the train back to Cusco. Upon arrival reception and transfer to your Hotel
