Detailed Itinerary:

Day 1 – Arrival to Cusco Free day

Upon arrival, reception and transfer to your Cusco Hotel; free day to take a leisurely walk around the ancient capital of the Incas or to acclimatize to the high altitude setting – Overnight in Cusco Hotel

Day 2 – Cusco City Tour: San Blas – Cathedral – Temple of the sun – San Pedro – Sacsayhuaman

Pick up from your hotel at 09:00am; the tour is beginning in the neighborhood of San Blas, with its artisans. Then you’ll go down the narrow stairs of Hatun Rumiyoc Street where the Palace of Inca Roca is located (known as Palacio Arzobispal). On its walls, you’ll discover the figures of a puma and a snake. Also, be sure to observe the famous stone with 12 angles, the perfect image of the Incan architectural perfection. Continue on to the Plaza de Armas of Cusco. You will enter the Cathedral of Cusco and see the beautiful woodwork and colonial paintings containing extensive Incan iconography. Visit the Korikancha (Temple of the Sun) on which the Santo Domingo Convent was built. Legend says this temple was completely gold coated, which impressed the conquerors upon their arrival. After we will visit San Pedro Market; where you’ll head on over to the San Pedro Market. In the company of your English guide, you’ll learn about the market’s history as you explore rows of local produce, colorful fabrics, flower vendors and shaman stalls; see the real life of the townsfolk. Finally, the tour ends with your visit to Sacsayhuaman fortress, from Cusco, you’ll drive up the mountains for 10 minutes to visit the nearby archeological sites. Continue on to the famous park of Sacsayhuaman where you can enjoy a wonderful panoramic view of Cusco. Sacsayhuaman boasts impressive Incan design and artwork with massive stones over 9 meters (30 feet) tall and weighing up to 125 tons, then back to Cusco – Overnight in Cusco Hotel

Day 3 – Cusco Horseback-Riding Tour – Cochahuasi the Animal Sanctuary

In the morning at the scheduled time; we will pick you up from your hotel, then we will continue to the horse ranch, you will be assigned your horse upon arrival and provided a helmet (optional). You can trot in the breathtaking countryside on the city outskirts ad absorb the ancient atmosphere. While riding you can imagine the way the Inca people lived several centuries ago. You can then travel through the conventional Andean villages and witness locals busy in their routine lifestyles, then we will continue driving for around 15 minutes to reach the animal sanctuary of Cochahuasi, this place it shelters different species, like the Condor of the Andes, Foxes, llama, alpacas, Andean deer, etc. After we will continue back to Cusco – Overnight in Cusco Hotel

Day 4 – Sacred Valley Tour: Mountain Biking – Aguas Calientes

A Mountain Biking Tour is a great way to explore the beautiful surroundings of the Incas’ Sacred Valley. The Sacred Valley Tour is perfect for people who love outdoor adventurous activities. This is the best adventure activity for families that will help you explore the wonderful sites surrounding the Sacred Valley.
On this tour you can enjoy the splendid landscape of snow capped mountains, the Andean lakes, picturesque villages and vibrant colors of cultivated plots on your way. After passing the Huaypo lagoon you will reach Archaeological Park of Moray, and then you will reach Maras where you can have a delicious picnic and then continue riding below Maras to the old salt pans. Your next destinations will be the remains of Ollantaytambo Fortress and the Temple of the Sun, a mysteriously built structure with massive 12 foot (3.5m) tall stones.
In the afternoon we will take the train to Aguas Calientes or Machu Picchu town – Overnight in Aguas Calientes Hotel

Day 5 – Machu Picchu Tour – Back to Cusco

Excursion to Machu Picchu from Aguas Calientes, short ride (25 minutes) up to the citadel of Machu Picchu. Upon arrival, and you will participate in a guided tour, visiting the Main Plaza, the Circular Tower, the most important preserved Intihuatana, the Royal Quarters, the Temple of the Three Windows.
Optional climb to Huayna Picchu or Machu Picchu Mountain; from where you can appreciate the immensity of Machu Picchu, even more amazing being high and distant (not included in the price): In the afternoon you will take the bus down to Aguas Calientes for the train ride to Ollantaytambo. Upon arrival to Ollantaytambo station, private transfer to Cusco – Overnight in Cusco Hotel

Day 6 – Free Morning in Cusco – Afternoon Make your own Chocolate in Choco Museum

After breakfast in your hotel, you have time relax. In the afternoon we will pick you up from your hotel, after short a walk we get the Chocolate Museum. Here you’ll make your chocolates right from the cacao bean, first we will go to pick up the Cacao beans from the storage, in company of a guide you will start with your Choco class, then you’ll leave with your own handmade chocolates, customize the way you like them, and bring them back to your friends and family, this Choco class last 2 hours – Overnight in Cusco Hotel

Day 7 – Humantay Trek – Full day from Cusco

Guide and driver will pick you up at your hotel in Cusco at around 5:00am. After 2 hours driven we will stop in Mollepata village for a short break before ascending a winding mountain road to a site called Soraypampa. Here you will begin our hike to Humantay Lake; you begin an ascent up the slopes that border the plateau. Two hours later, after making your way over the final hill, you will be stunned to see the turquoise water of the lake, made even more spectacular by the sight of the Humantay glacier looming behind it. Here you will have a chance to relax, enjoy a snack and meditate in the tranquility of this magical spot. After we will descent back to Soraypampa where we will enjoy our picnic lunch, a short nap.
Then we will continue the journey to Cusco, on the way we will stop to visit the Inca ruins of Tarawasi near the town of Limatambo, Tarawasi was a Ceremonial and resting Center that was located in the beginning of the way to Chinchaysuyo, Among the main buildings of this complex we can find: The main temple, agricultural terraces, irrigation channels. In the afternoon our transport will take us back to Cusco – Overnight in Cusco Hotel

Day 8 – Q´eswachaca (Inca Bridge) – Lunch with local family – Homestay in T´umi community

Personalized pick up from your hotel at 07:00 am, depart from Cusco by a private van to Q´eswachaca (ancient Inca Bridge). After 2 hours driving through beautiful scenery, with a variety of flora, we will arrive to Miski qocha (a beautiful lake), which is part of the 4 lagoons circuit, from here 50 minutes more driving to get Q´eswachaca, as we approach, we will be impressed by the imposing Apurimac canyon, finally we will reach the Inca Bridge. We were pleasantly impressed by the high degree of engineering our ancestors achieved.
This ancient Inca Bridge is a suspension bridge made of vegetable fiber call (ichu), here we will see how our ancestors achieved use the perfectly engineering and technique to build bridges that connect towns and regions. Then our private van will take as to T´umi community, where we will share an organic lunch with a local family, free time to relax in this peaceful place, surrounded by an amazing lagoon, at around 4pm, you will participate in the daily activities of the family, you may help feeding guinea pigs, or pick up and take at home the donkey and cows, after dinner, overnight at the Home stay; It has basic but comfortable facilities, good mattress, blankets & sheets, private toilet.

Day 9 – Fishing activities in the lagoon – back to Cusco

Breakfast with the family, then you will prepare your own traditional fishing implements, then in a craft boat, we dive into the lake, ready to start with our fishing activity. After sailing, with our fishes ready, we will go to the house, to deliver the fishing, where they will prepare our lunch from the fresh trout.
Finally, after de lunch, time to relax, then our private transport will take us back to Cusco – Overnight in Cusco Hotel

Day 10 – Departure from Cusco
